Top 10 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week, it’s an Audio Freebie! I’m not much of an audiobook listener but I do have quite a few books on my wishlist so here is my Top 10 Audiobooks Wishlist.
A lot of people like to listen to audiobooks, whether they’re busy or not. The soothing voice of a brilliant narrator really does bring the book to life. Unfortunately, I cannot focus very well on a story when it’s being read to me – often, I have to read along with it to really get immersed into the story. Though, there are but a few audiobooks who I am willingly to make an exception, especially after hearing and reading good reviews. Continue reading “Top 10 Tuesday: Top 10 Audiobook TBR (TBL?)”
Top 10 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week, it’s Top 10 All-Time-Favourite Books of X Genre! This is going to be my nightmare but to make it a little more bearable, I have decided to list my Top 10 All-Time-Favourite Childhood Books.
These days I am engrossed in the worlds of young adult novels and adult general fiction. As someone who is transitioning between these two milestones, I am much more likely to be walking through these aisles. But, rewind the clock ten years and I’m chasing dragons, flying brooms, falling down rabbitholes. Perhaps, you’ve come across these, too.
Care to reminisce with me? Continue reading “Top 10 Tuesday: Top 10 All-Time-Favourite Childhood Books”
I have a confession to make:
I don’t have a bookshelf.
And, I don’t own that many books; I can count the number of books I have in just one hand. I feel ashamed.
But, it is my own fault since I’m very, very, very picky with the books that I do buy, added to the fact that I am, almost always, broke means that I have little to no bookish possessions. I have bought and received many books but not all at the same time (some may get damaged, lost and/or I didn’t like them that much), so my phantom bookshelf has always been bare.
Most of my previous collection from last year, I had had to part with due to our move at the start of this year. The new house is reasonably smaller – because I’ll be off to university soon enough, anyway – and we had even less space for a bookshelf after a few months of too-excited-to-think furniture shopping. Thus, I drown my shame in borrowed books.

When I was five, I insisted on renaming our dog, Twinkle.
It didn’t matter that she already had a name – mother had named her and her own dog after a play she liked – but I had always likened her to the shining stars up in the midnight ocean. The name stuck and though they thought it was preciously silly of me to name her after a lullaby, I felt it was what she wanted, or rather; close enough.
Not quite, but, almost as if I could hear her thoughts, close enough. Continue reading “Daily Drabble #1 Twinkling Pools”
Top 10 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is a tribute to Fall TV and I have decided to join in with Top 10 Current TV Show Marathons.
Yes. Yess. I picked a good week to join. Y. E. S.
Since I’m relatively new to the book-blogosphere, I decided that I should join in on the action with some memes to find and meet other book bloggers – hopefully, others who can help me out because I am a noob. Turns out, I’m in luck, though! This week’s TV theme has me all excited because books are my first love but Netflix is a temptress. I’ve been a couch potato this summer and I think I’ll have a lot to say. So, for those who are willing to listen – er, read – here goes.

I just gave birth to a universe.
It’s midnight and I’m about to fall into a slumber – okay, technically no… I was scrolling mindlessly on my phone, a little bit sleepy but unwilling to close my eyes. I had just been reading Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and musing on how much of a sucker I am for heist adventures (especially, one with a mix of fantasy and magical powers laced in with the plot!) when I decide to search articles for heists that had been successfully done in real life. “Successful” by way of saying that it was a mystery, nobody still knows who did it but I was just as intrigued by those who got caught and hearing the explanations behind the plans are just so fascinating and interesting, I keep on scrolling despite my droopy eyes begging to start playing the night’s dream sequence. I’m a blog virgin.
Well – apart from tumblr, which doesn’t really count for much since all I ever did was reblog. But, here goes.
This is not so much another book blog or another writing blog, as it is my dumping ground for book spams, book rants, writer hype and writer’s block woes. I feel it is best to relieve family and friends of such ramblings, at least a small chunk of it, and so here I begin. Continue reading “Once Upon A Bookish…”
